Golden GOa -dream of BJP???
03.05.2016
Letter to the editor
Will Goa ever be free from the
clutches of greedy high-handed politicians who feel that once elected they are
the kings of the state and that they can do anything under the sun to this once
golden Goa of ours . In a democracy there cannot be kings and queens or even
princess and princesses the elected are the servants of the people and are put in that seat of command to fulfill
the wishes of the populace and not override them to secure the future of them
and their families. All politician in
public service needs to first and foremost see the betterment of the people who
have voted him or her to power. Goa was known as "Golden Goa" much
before may be even before the introduction of BJP in the Goan or Indian politics.
As years progressed Golden Goa was looted and plundered by the corrupt Politician's
and now the remaining is been ruined continuously by the present Govt. in the
name of development. Once
"Golden Goa- Rome of the East" is turning into concrete jungle, rampant hill cutting , destruction of forest cover , Polluted Rivers, CRZ violations and anti social activities are encouraged by the present govt. favoring builders, big business houses as if there is no tomorrow. Giving away of precious comminidade lands to migrants, to secure vote banks is favored by these politicians in the run-up to the 2017 elections. I fail to understand how BJP can dream of Golden Goa by concretization and destroying the scenic beauty of Goa which is the main attraction of tourist local and international.

has his own rights and decision making authority only problem is he is answerable to the King
and his counsel (RSS). Could be the King is not happy with the prince's adventures of
visiting his roots every weekend and hence planning to handover the very
important portfolio to the very incumbent Delhi man (always available) at
present handling the I&B ministry Mr
Jaitely who is more precise with his figures then our ex CM who has the habit
of playing to the galleries with his I know all attitude. and when it comes to
punishing the culprit it is just the book fiqures and noting more comes out .
take the case of the much hyped mining scam . According to the honuorable
defense minister like the Mining scam of Rs 35000/- crores the Agusta chopper deal is 36000/-
crores but Mr Parrikar is the defence
minister now and not the king CM of Goa and
he just cannot come our with figures and not any proofs of the actual scam
against the Gandhi's. 4th of May will be very important day when the honuorable
Defense minister places the report of chronology of events pertaining to the
Augusta deal in the parliament wherein
he will have to place proofs of kick backs if any and order CBI inquiry.

time of Mr Parrikar promotion as the defense minister of the country it was a
known fact that a parallel govt is being run in Goa the present CM was given a
free hand to take all the anti people decisions and then finally the Man who
knows all will come back to Goa with solutions to all the issues in the
capacity a King CM. It would have been a different case if deputy CM was elevated to the CMs post after
Mr Parrikars Exit.

Regional outfit a must for 2017
The recent wipe out of the BJP and its allies in the Bihar
Elections must have given shivers to the party leadership. A local party is
always more understanding to the needs of the people and no one can deny that.
The Prime Minister who is the PM for all Indians jumped into the
mudslinging in Bihar and almost got all his taunting speeches backfired.
The intolerance on religious issues since the BJP has taken the helm of affairs
in India has reach at the height of heights. All local issues are better
understood and sorted out by a regional party than a central Party. This is
more evident in the voting pattern in Bihar. Elections are not far in Goa, a
strong dispensation led by the very vocal on Goan issues Mr Vijay and
others will be the only option for Goans to look upon to address, which the BJP
is trying to bulldoze with their hardheadedness favoring the business
class at the cost of the environment. Although late Mathany showed more trust
in his friend the then leader of opposition in attaining special status for Goa
and did not join hands with the regional outfits who were ready to fight the
2014 election on a common platform I hope Mrs Saldahna would favor a strong
Regional outfit to counter forces that are out to destroy our beautiful Goa. As
the situation is turning worse day by day, I strongly feel Mr Parrikar will be
the projected Chief Ministerial candidate for BJP in 2017.

Regional party need
of the hour
This is with reference to the letter to the editor titled
“Regional outfit a must for 2017 dated 11/11/2015 by Clarence Alvares. I fully
agree with Clarence Alvares, that only a strong local dispensation can
understand and deliver the needs of the state and its people. This need was
felt not only now but way back in the eighties by Matanhy Saldanha who found
the Gomant Lok Pokx in the year 1983 with the sole goal of saving the people of
Goa and protecting its land and environment. Mind you GLP also had leaders like
late Erasmo Sequeira in its fold. The GLP went to the polls several times but
the people of Goa did not vote because all were blinded by the belief that only
a national party could govern Goa.
Time and again late Matanhy Saldanha reached out to the people
especially as the Congress, with every passing year proved to be corrupt to the
core. But the Goans were both blind and deaf to the reality. Late Matanhy
Saldanha started his campaign for special status for Goa way back in 2008 and
the doors of GMFSS have always been and are open to whoever wished to join it.
He firmly believed every Goan has the right to make his contribution to the
cause and unity was important to achieve the goal. But how many came forward
then?
After UGDP, a regional party literally sold its soul for a price
by getting Matanhy Saldanha disqualified, the only option left to Matanhy was
to join hands with Manohar Parrikar who had done well for Goa during the 2002
tenure and promised to be able and trustworthy administrator. Unfortunately
fate decided to spare Matanhy the heartache of seeing his so-called friend
betraying him by forgetting the conditions late Matanhy had placed before the
BJP, with respect to Goa and its people, conditions that were accepted by the
BJP. Every dog has its day and the BJP will pay its price for betrayal. However
right now a regional party with definite goals is the need of the hour.

special status to Goa
Special
status is a mirage according to the present CM but for a son of the soil it is the right he
is fighting for. The late Mathany's dream of securing our beautiful Goa for the
next generations to come is shuttered by these views of our CM and his party at
the center and state in general. It was the late Mathany saldhanha who was instrumental
in getting the catholic voters change their views about the BJP. He would
fiercely propagate the saffron brand when on stage during the campaigning of
2012 Even knowing very well that there is no mention special status to Goa in their manifesto. Late Mathany supported the BJP. He had said, "It is not put
because it is not under the purview of the state government. but it is a
central government issue." He was of the opinion that the BJP high command
has already approved the demand for special status. " I am there and my
fight for special status is permanent." were his words on the issue. Things would have been different if he was around.
The trust he showed in his political friend since 2002 just vanished after his
sad demise. Time
has flown by from that “Ajeeb hain yeh Goa ke log” in 1961, to" naya nazaria a swagat yog
nazaria goa ke lok mage special status to protect Goan Identity, goan culture
and environment in 2014. Mrs
saldhana did not get the desired respect she should have got for being
the widow of a person who had gone all out in getting the saffron party
elected. Now that she has taken up the late crusaders causes. People should
show support and solidarity to her and all those niz Goancars who are in favour of this noble cause of protecting
Goa for the future generations to come.

wake up call for Congress

Wakeup call for
Congress
Kudos to the Sunday editorial where in the realism and the
sentiments of the betrayed Goan are highlighted. It is indeed a eye
opener for the Congress. The mood of the people is to go with the Goa Forward a
regional outfit and with Mr Sardesai who single-handedly raised issues
pertaining to Goa and it's people in the assembly when the opposition
MLAs were least bothered or busy with court cases and other things of
their interest.
In fact the people of Goa has seen the Congress
striking deals with the BJP in the earlier elections and might have done the
same in the forthcoming election too to split the votes and get BJP back to
power even in this anti-incumbency . The old Congress men are too old to give
any fight at this old age and are happy to relax in their chairs sitting in the
opposition without a fight.
But this 2017 election will see the age old party scoreless if
they instead of playing the big brother to Goa Forward and other like-minded
parties don’t form a grand alliance with them and win the election like
they did in Bihar, the people of Goa will not forgive them. Respect the
sentiments of the people, regional outfit is the need of the hour and not the
high command which too has their malafide intentions for us Goan.
Let Reginald take the call as he is a bold leader very vocal on
Goan issues. They had a best opportunity to prove this in the Panjim municipal
election were they have entered to split the votes to bring back the BP panel
to power. Be selfless in your quest to power not selfish as you were all this
years.
